A MAJOR HURRICANE IN NORTH QUEENSLAND IN FEBRUARY 2011 NO REAL SURPRISE

I KNEW SOMETHING WAS BREWING WHEN I WITNESSED QUIET UNUSUAL CONDITIONS IN AN AREA ABOUT TO BE HIT BY A CYCLONE

I had a interesting chat with my dad on MSN a few days after Cyclone Yasi hit the North Queensland coast.

My dad asked me if I was shocked to see a cyclone hitting north queensland in early february 2011. I said no.

I told him I had a really uncomfortable feeling when I and my dad was in cairns but I didn't speak about it to anybody or my dad about it – but I knew in my mind at the time that something was brewing and I predicted to myself that north queensland was heading for big trouble down the track. At the time of our tour there I had been experiencing high humidity, a few showers with some odd thunder rumbles with some mostly sunny weather. To me that was not the usual pattern that Cairns should be experiencing at early January. Anyway it was not the first time as I had experienced similar conditions 23 years ago in the same area. 23 years ago Cairns was experiencing similar patterns to what I had experienced there, and 2 months later Cyclone charlie hit ayr and the whole of North queensland.

I had a similar feeling in late 2005 and early 2006 and early 1989, really uncomfortable feeling seeing a break of sunny weather with high humidity sensing that something was brewing. Larry, Monica and Aivu smashed the coasts at a result one month or so after I had a uncomfortable feeling about the weather at the time.

The weather that had caused the floods last month in Brisbane had sucked all the moisture away from cairns at the time I visited cairns. Usually likewise in Darwin, Cairns usually experiences monsoonal rains in january but it was not the case when I was there last month so I could sense something was brewing somewhere and I feared north queensland was in the firing line.

As darwin is now experiencing similar conditions to what I have been experiencing in cairns, I hope I am very wrong and I pray nothing happens here, but I must warn more cyclones are in store and darwin could eventually be in the firing line as it was the case in 2006. I hope and pray I am wrong but I warn people to be prepared for something brewing as I have a uncomfortable feeling about the weather at the moment.
